Upcoming Album Announcement
Joe, the musical project of Stranger actor Joe Kiri, is set to release his new album “The Crux” on April 4. You can pre-order it first here.
The latest teaser follows the previous singles: “The basic is the main one” and “Delete”.
About “Potion”
According to the press statement, “Potion” finds DJO in Laurel Canyon. “The Potion feels like your favorite pair of blue jeans,” Kiri shared with The Record. “I drew inspiration from Travis when writing this song, so it resonates with vibes from Harry Nilsson and Lindsey Buckingham.”
On this acoustic-driven track, Kiri contributes vocals alongside acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, percussion, and Mellotron.

In February, DJO covered HAIM’s single “Gasoline” as part of a new radio session.
The actor and musician visited Triple j to record the track for the Like A Version series.
Joe and his live band chose a laid-back, lumbering rendition of HAIM’s track “Gasoline,” which appears in the trio’s third and final album, 2020’s “Women in Music Pt. III.”
“I love this album,” Kiri explained. “They are such wonderful artists—I appreciate that they are sisters making music together. As someone from a big family, it felt fitting to pay tribute to HAIM in this way. My sisters sing on the track ‘Basic…,’ so I thought it would be cool to honor them.”
He added, “I think I relate to the fact that there is a small vulnerability in the song. Sometimes in my personal life, I struggle to express that vulnerability. But through the song, I feel like I can lean into it for a moment, and that’s good.”

Recently, Joe spoke with NME about the process of creating his new album and how he balances his music and acting career.
Stranger series.
“What I experienced was uniquely profound, even in the acting world. People don’t work on projects for so long. Can you imagine how sad and strange it would feel if I were just sitting at home doing nothing? That would be tough for me.”
DJO is set to tour North America, Great Britain, and Europe later this year in support of the album. Find remaining tickets here (USA/Canada) and here (UK/Ireland).
