Upcoming Memoir Details
The incident took place shortly after Ronson revealed details about his new memoir titled Night People, which focuses on the vibrant culture of New York in the 90s.
This memoir, penned by the award-winning producer, is set to be released on September 25 (Order it here). In this book, Ronson seeks to capture his personal memories of the intriguing facets of New York throughout the 1990s, shedding light on the music, personalities, and experiences that shaped his journey as a DJ.
The narrative delves into how he embraced being a night owl and began to explore the nightlife and music scene after relocating from London to New York at a young age.
Additionally, the book reflects on how Ronson navigated feelings of being an “outsider” during his explorations into hip-hop culture and the unmistakable ambiance of New York during that era.
“DJing in 90s New York informed everything that I did later, laying the groundwork for all my future work and creative endeavors,” he expressed. “In Night People, I aimed to capture this transformative chapter of my life and celebrate my three great loves: the art of DJing, the exhilarating energy of New York at night, and the wild and wonderful characters who surrounded me and became my second family.”
“This book is my love letter to a bygone era that not only shaped my career but also my identity—the time when I discovered that my craft was guiding me to finding myself.”
