Bobby Weir of the Grateful Dead Announces First London Show in 22 Years at Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra

Bobby Weir’s London Performance Announcement

Bobby Weir of the Grateful Dead has announced his first show in London in two decades, set to take place at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Celebrating A Milestone

On Saturday, June 21, this concert will mark the return of Weir to London after 22 years. He will be joined by his Wolf Bros comrades, as well as Dead & Company members Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane.

The evening will feature two full sets of music performed by the orchestra, combining beloved classics from the Grateful Dead with hits from Weir’s solo catalog. This will be the first time these pieces are performed in London accompanied by a full orchestra of 68 musicians.

Tickets for the performance at the Royal Albert Hall will be available through a series of presales beginning on Wednesday, April 2, at 2 PM, with general sales opening on Friday, April 4, at 4 PM. You can find tickets here.

Looking Ahead

Last month, Weir mentioned he is open to the “possibility” of reuniting with the Grateful Dead for their 60th anniversary.

This year, the Grateful Dead will celebrate their 60th anniversary. In November, the group announced plans to reunite with all four original members to commemorate this milestone. However, these plans were impacted by the passing of co-founder and bassist Phil Lesh in October.

Weir discussed the chances of a reunion without Lesh at the end of this year in an interview with Rolling Stone: “I believe that I could go back. I wouldn’t want to replace anyone, so it would be a trio for now. It would be me and two drummers. I need to think about it. I haven’t thought about it—I just have to see if we can come together.”
