New Single Release
Mother shares a new single ‘Rodeo’ on the eve of their album “Welcome to My Blue Sky,” released through Lucky Number and Polyvinyl this Friday, April 4.
Music Video Details
The track is accompanied by a video directed by Richard Philip Smith, featuring a group on an ice rink. “This song is crafted from the perspective of two individuals from whom we, in a way, parted romantically. It is our attempt to honor their stories, capturing the feeling of knowing someone else will eventually take their place,” the band explains.
“We shot the video with Richard Smith, who envisioned placing us on an ice rink and having someone skate while the bull chases them. It illustrates the idea of being at the center of the Rodeo Ring, feeling as though someone is circling around you while you struggle to keep up,” say songwriters Allegra Weinarten and Etta Friedman.
Upcoming Tour Dates
The group recently made their late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing their track “I Want You (Fever).” Their new album, created by the Aron Kobayashi Rich group, was recorded live at Studio G in Brooklyn.
Mom is set to embark on a tour with dates throughout North America and Europe.
