Upcoming Single Release
Edinburgh duet There are no windows will release their latest single “Easter Island,” from the forthcoming EP “Great Traitor,” set to drop via Fat Pusssum Records on May 9.
Musical Composition and Themes
This track signifies the group’s first complete duet, showcasing a blend of acoustic compositions featuring piano, vibraphone, and ribbon loop elements. This release follows their 2024 EP “Point Nemo” and will coincide with an extensive tour across Great Britain.
“Easter Island represents the most collaborative work we’ve done,” says Morgan Morris. “Typically, our instinct is to focus on arrangement and production after completing a song. However, once we finished ‘Easter Island,’ we felt fully content with its raw form. The song remains true to how we played it the first time in my room.”
Veriti Slangen adds, “This song was birthed from the end of a relationship that inspired much of the EP. I wrote numerous songs during this breakup, indicating my growth in approaching situations with a softer, more nuanced perspective. As Morgan mentioned, I can’t delineate our contributions in this track—I felt deeply connected while writing it, and its collaborative nature reflects the constants in my life, particularly our music.”
The EP “The Great Traitor” was produced by Ali Chant, recognized for his work with several renowned artists.
