It remains uncertain whether Billy Corgan and the Machines of God will release any new music in the near future. Previously, Corgan released three solo albums: *TheFutureEmbrace* in 2005, *Ogilala* in 2017, and *Cotillions* in 2019. He also issued an album with the Zwan supergroup, titled *Mary Star of the Sea* in 2003.

Alongside the tour announcement, Smashing Pumpkins detailed the highly anticipated re-release of their 2000 conceptual albums, *Machina/The Machines of God* and its companion *Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music*, which have been extensively remastered.

Corgan’s tea shop in Highland Park, Illinois, will exclusively host this comprehensive boxed set, which includes 80 songs featuring the 48-track *Machina* and an additional 32 bonus tracks, including demos and live performances—a first-time official unification of these two records. Additionally, the group plans to release a reissue of 16 songs from the original vinyl of *Machina* on August 22, with pre-orders starting on June 27.

The “Return to Zero” tour announcement follows the recent news of the “Night of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” where the band will return to their hometown of Chicago for a series of large orchestral shows, bringing in family members and collaborating with acclaimed local musicians.

In an interview with NME last month, Corgan reflected on the 30th anniversary of *Mellon Collie*, stating, “We are working with the label to release some special editions. I’m making several solo dates to honor the album as part of this. There are other plans, but I can’t discuss them yet.”

Corgan expressed wonder at the passage of 30 years: “It’s strange because I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by. I’m really excited, but at the same time I’m like, ‘What has happened over these 30 years?’”

This summer, Smashing Pumpkins will host a major concert at Gunnersbury Park, featuring Skunk Anansie and White Lies as special guests. Corgan remarked, “The great thing about playing for so many years is that you learn how to handle these big moments. I’m proud that this particular lineup knows how to rise to such occasions. When I was younger, I would watch concerts and barely comprehend their significance.”

“Now, when I attend these shows, I feel compelled to participate because it’s so exhilarating. It’s a chance to create a unique moment in life, and the audience craves that. They want to see you at your best, and that anticipation is magical.”

In other news, the singer of “Today” recently welcomed his third child with his wife, Chloe Mendel Korgan.
