These iconic bands will take the stage together at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 25 and 26, embarking on a two-day residency in the City of Angels. “You see twice … and everything is in order. @Welovepulp and @lcdsoundSystem. This isn’t the first time the legendary Sheffield group has crossed paths with the Brooklyn band. Back in 2013, the LCD SoundSystem frontman James Murphy released PULP’s single “AFTER You.”
The track had its first performance by Cocker and KO during the sessions for their 2001 LP “We Love Life.” The version ultimately released was recorded in November 2012 and debuted through Murphy in December of the same year. “After You” marked the first new Pulp single after an eleven-year hiatus.

In other news, PULP has recently announced that they will be the first group to contribute to Live Trust. For every ticket sold during their summer 2025 tour in the UK, £1 will be allocated to provide financial support for those working in live music.
The band reunited in 2023 for their first shows since 2012 and performed various new tracks, including “Farm Market,” “Spike Island,” “My Sex,” “You Should Have Loved,” “Background Noise,” and “Sunset.”
Last summer, reports emerged that the group had “returned to the studio,” following sightings of the frontman in Walthamstow, London. The singer was seen carrying an orange tote bag and waving to a camera.
As for LCD SoundSystem, the Dance Yerself Clean singers have recently announced a summer residency in London for 2025, where they will perform for eight nights at the O2 Brixton.
The LCD also completed a six-day residency at the O2 Brixton Academy in 2022. Their return to London this summer will follow their performance at All Points East 2024 in Victoria Park and their main stage appearance at Glastonbury last year.
The group has not performed live in 2025, concluding their “winter functions” in New York last December. Nevertheless, they recently announced a U.S. tour for this spring, gearing up for performances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and We Love Green in Paris.
In a press release about their upcoming Primavera performance, it was revealed that the group is set to release a new album in 2025, following the release of their new single “X-ray Eyes” at the end of last year.
Later, Murphy shared updates on the recording, stating, “So, there is a new LCD song called ‘X-ray Eyes.’ This is the first single from what will become a new LCD SoundSystem album.”
“Do not ask me when it’s coming out because we are still working on it. But it’s very exciting to release new music,” he added.
The frontman reiterated that “there is no finished LP,” stating, “But when we’re not playing shows, it gets closer and closer to the end. So this is the news. All you’re hearing is the nonsense of progress.”
“X-ray Eyes” marks the first new material from the LCD since the stand-alone single “New Rhumba” from the 2022 Noah Baumbach film White Noise, following their comeback album from 2017, American Dream. This album ended a seven-year hiatus since This Is Happening in 2010.
