Festival Details
Celebrating its third year, the festival will span multiple venues in North Shields, featuring a three-day program. The event kicks off with a free pre-viewing demonstration on May 24, hosted by Generator North East in the machine department.
The weekend festivities will continue with performances on the lake on Saturday evening, culminating in the main festival day on Sunday, May 25. This multi-venue event will showcase a variety of acts, including Katie Gi Parson, psychedelic porn-firing, men/women/chainsaw, Deeply Swimming, and Deadtletter.
“We couldn’t miss the chance to feature FT FTIs, the legendary Goth-indie band The Horrors,” says festival founder Anthony Thompson. “We are collaborating closely with Generator North East to offer a free preliminary viewing on Saturday, showcasing many outstanding local artists. Our aim is to make the event accessible to the community, and while it’s not feasible to keep the entire weekend free, we hope this will allow more people to experience the atmosphere of Throwing Stone.”
The festival, in conjunction with NS 800, celebrates the 800th anniversary of North Shields. Go North East will provide bus services connecting five venues: The Exchange 1856, Cing Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank, and The Enginemit.
