Mark Prechard and Tom York Unveil Special Show “Tales”

Plans for a Global Screening Event

Mark Protchard and Tom York announced the plans for a special global screening event featuring their Tall Tales album.

Event Details

The duet will allow fans to listen to their record and watch the feature film on May 8, the day before the official release of the LP. You can buy tickets here.

Transferred by the Australian visual artist Jonathan by the rubble, the film “Tales” is described as “The Tale of the Modern World; depicting rising tides, kings and queens, Amazon logistics, and robotic weapons under the ranger sky.” You can watch the trailer for the film below.

Album Insights

The album has been described as a “multi-layered, richly textured entry that conveys numerous narratives and multiple genres,” promising to showcase “the skill of the archaic machines of the bearer, found in the archives of the synthesizer, directing the music in unexpected and experimental ways.” It features 12 songs that rise to the occasion.

So far, two singles have been released from the record – “Return to the Game” and “In This Conversation There Is Not Enough Your Voice.”

The album will be available in digital form, as well as in standard Black Vinyl 2LP Gatefold and a limited edition of Black Vinyl 2LP. The latter will include a 36-page booklet filled with many images from the project and texts for all tracks meticulously designed by Zawada. Standard and limited special editions of the CD, accompanied by a 36-page booklet, will also be available. You can place a pre-order for “Tales” here.

This project marks the latest collaboration between the frontman of Radiohead and electronic producer Protchard, following their “Beautophul People” track in 2016.

Elsewhere, York recently shared a live version of “Back in the Game,” recorded in Sydney at the beginning of this month.
