Festival Announces Paid Slot for New Talents

The Deer Shed Festival has introduced a paid slot in its 2025 lineup aimed at emerging talents and is now welcoming applications.

Exciting Lineup and Application Details

Taking place from July 25 to July 28 in Baldersby Park, the North Yorkshire music festival will feature acts such as WunderHorse and Big Moon. Other artists slated for the 2025 Deer Shed Festival include Moonchild Sanelly, Anthony Schmirek, and spoken word artist Ke Tempera.

The festival has also revived its “Apply to Play” initiative with new partners, EMI North. They are currently accepting applications from artists based in the north and are particularly encouraging submissions from unrepresented backgrounds.

Based in Leeds, EMI North is the first major office in the UK outside of London, dedicated to nurturing talent from the north. Winners of the Apply to Play program will receive mentoring and consulting sessions from the EMI North team, along with a paid performance slot at Deer Shed 2025.

Artist Development Initiative

“Thanks to this initiative aimed at artist development, we offer emerging artists the chance to hone their skills, broaden their audience, and create something truly special,” stated Megan Evans, director of Deer Shed. “We are committed to providing the necessary creative and practical support to guide these artists into the future of music. We are eager to witness what unfolds and showcase these fresh, authentic voices.”

The 2025 edition will mark the 15th anniversary of the festival. In 2022, NME awarded the Northern Yorkshire festival a four-star review, highlighting its supportive environment and family-friendly, yet humorous ethos. The 2022 lineup included notable performances from artists like Kanyuk, John Grant, and Self-Esteem.
