Tobias Forge deutet an, dass es bald ein Ende des Wissens geben könnte.

Ghost’s Future Plans

Ghost’s Tobias Forge said NME that the branded plan of the group may come to an end in the near future.

Upcoming Album and Performances

The metal frontman performed ahead of the highly anticipated sixth studio album of the Skeletá group, set for release on April 25. He had previously unveiled the haunting lead single “Satanized,” introducing the new character, Perpetua Forge.

Forge has adopted a series of diverse personas throughout his time with the Swedish occult band, embodying a new character with each tour cycle. Following the passing of Honored Pope IV, who led the band during the 2022 album tour for Impera, Papa Perpetua is now their current leader.

However, it appears that this aspect of the band’s identity may be nearing its final act. When asked by NME about his ultimate goal for the group’s journey, he remarked: “I believe there can be an end to storytelling because it’s not productive to have an endless soap opera. If fans need information to please the band, then this element may very well conclude soon.”

“If there exists a point where music can be sufficient and enjoyable, I, like many other artists, have milestones I wish to achieve. There are still venues where I aspire to perform, and whatever I wish to do, I will wear another hat. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to accomplish many of these feats, but I still seek greater success.”

In another part of the same interview, Forge stated that Ghost is “living proof” that the notion of “rock is dead” is untrue. “I’m not claiming we can be the new AC/DC, but we are evidence that you can still make it,” he shared. “There are newer bands, such as Sleep Token, finding success, so it’s clear that a band can still grow larger.”

Influences and Upcoming Tour

Ghost is among the many bands scheduled to perform at the upcoming final show of Black Sabbath at Villa Park in Birmingham. “Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne have had a significant impact on me,” Forge expressed. “Ozzy as both a frontman and a solo artist molded my aspirations, especially since I grew up in the ’80s, where he stood out as a rock star.”

“I sought to emulate that, but I also immersed myself in the classic Black Sabbath albums. Presently, I adore most of Black Sabbath’s work, including their 80s and 90s albums. Their Dio era also holds a special place in my heart.”

Ghost will embark on its own tour across the UK, Europe, and the United States at the end of this year, beginning at Manchester’s Ao Arena on April 15. Find a complete list of dates here and any remaining tickets here.
