Oasis Reunion Sketch Highlights
Intheweeners stars James Bakley and Joe Thomas portrayed Oasis members Liam and Noel Gallagher in the comedic film “Reunning Parodia” for charity. Check it out below.
This followed strong hints earlier in the month indicating a comic project related to Oasis, culminating in Bakley and Thomas reuniting on-screen for a charity show.
Sketch Details and Celebrity Appearances
A sketch titled “Oasis: Reunification: Film” was aired on the BBC last night (March 21), featuring the actors who previously played Simon and Jay in Intheweeners, taking on the roles of the Gallagher brothers.
The narrative traces their notorious decline in 2009, leading up to their reunion announced last year. According to the sketch, this came about after “Noel’s credit card” hit its limit, prompting Liam’s accountant (played by Martin Lewis) to discuss finances with the singer, ultimately leading the brothers to meet again.
Upon their reconciliation, they quickly began to bicker over the set-list and gathered the group, calling for “everyone in Manchester,” including Happy Mondays and several Coronation Street stars.
They also poked fun at the group’s disastrous ticket sales, featuring Piers Morgan in the role of “The Ticket Master,” parodying the debates around ticket prices that made headlines last year as tickets went on sale.
The sketch illustrated a fan waiting in a lengthy ticket line, eventually turning into a skeleton before reaching the designated site.
Other celebrity cameos included Hugh Dennis, Mickey Flanagan, Vernon Kay, Mark Silcox, Tasha Guri, Melvin Oud, Tommy Fury, and Roizin Konati. Check it out below.

The online reaction was mixed, with some praising it on Twitter/X, calling it “Absolute Cinema,” “Brilliant,” and “Likely Funny.” However, others were less impressed, with one user labeling it “one of the most forgettable things I’ve seen in comic relief,” while another described it as “terrible.” Check out the reactions below.

Comic relief of the oasis was a low funny

#Comicrelief They turned up the same way as they showed this segment of the oasis. Damn it, this was one of the most unrelated things that I saw in the comic book. What is the weak standard of the comedian, which we, unfortunately, have now compared with the geniuses of the past.

This sketch of the oasis on #Comicrelief Maybe just the worst that I saw when I saw.

#Comicrelief I knew that this sketch of the oasis would be terrible when it was announced, and now I know that it is just as terrible, if not more.

Bakley’s Nostalgic Experience with Oasis
Back in 2021, Bakley shared in an NMA interview that his first concert was Oasis at Finsbury Park in 2002. “The first concert, as well as the best concert at which I was,” he reminisced.
“The support acts were incredible: Charlatans, Black Rebel, Cornershop, The Coral, and the Motorcycle Club… It seemed like 30 bands played that day. The doors opened at noon, and I thought, ‘I need to be there; I don’t want to miss Oasis!’”
“I thought this was what concerts should always look like. That evening, Oasis was the greatest band in the world. Watching them live was just mesmerizing. Reunion ever? If the Stone Roses can reunite for a few shows, then I believe any band can.”
Now that the reunion has become a reality, NME has reported that sources close to the upcoming tour have revealed details about the band’s lineup. Andy Bell will be on bass, alongside Noel and Gem Archer on guitar, with Jowi Voronker on drums.
The band has also been nominated for the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame this year, alongside acts like New Order, The White Stripes, and Mariah Carey, though Liam continues to dismiss the honor as “for wankers.”
