Green Day to Shoot Film Scene at Free Concert at La Palladium Next Week

Green Day’s Free Show

Green Day is set to perform a free concert at The Palladium in Los Angeles next week, which will be showcased in their forthcoming film “New Year’s”.

Performance Details

The concert, scheduled for March 25, will be filmed as a scene for New Year’s Eve. The band will repeat several songs multiple times during the shoot, which is anticipated to last between 10 and 11 hours. Fans aged 18 and above can register to join in additional filming.

This film, written and directed by Kirk for Live Nation Productions, chronicles the early days of the Green Day tour leading up to their rise to fame in the early 1990s. Billy members Joe Armstrong, Cool, and Mike Dirnt are producing the project.

Starring in the film are Mason Thames, Kailr Koffman, and Ryan Bust, who portray three friends traveling to Los Angeles after mistakenly thinking they are booked to open for Green Day at the New Year’s show. The cast also features Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey from “The Office”.

“The Van Days were incredible. You would drive all night without sleep, then perform for 10 kids in a friend’s basement 50 miles away from where you just came from. But you would do it all over again the next day and the day after that. It was all about doing it with your bandmates who became family, and it’s not the only thing you knew. It was electric. Let the music do the talking,” says Armstrong.
