Kelly Clarkson Celebrates 1000th Episode

Kelly Clarkson celebrated the 1000th episode of her chat show in the United States, expressing that she “lost a lot” since the beginning of the program.

Reflecting on the Journey

“Since you left,” the singer began hosting Show Kelly Clarkson in September 2019, which has aired on weekdays on NBC. On Thursday (March 20), she marked the special episode “especially” and shared her emotional insights during a monologue in front of a live audience.

“I can’t believe that today it marks the 1000th episode; this is madness,” she shared. “We’ve had the privilege of meeting extremely talented individuals, a plethora of big stars, and inspiring everyday heroes.”

Clarkson went on to discuss the challenges the show has faced over the past five and a half years, including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. “Personally, there have been many ups and downs,” she added.

“For 1000 episodes, we’ve laughed together, cried over incredible stories, sung alongside remarkable guests, danced together, celebrated, and even competed together.”

“I lost a lot, a lot,” she continued, possibly referring to her journey through weight loss. “And throughout this journey, we found comfort in one another. Looking back, we are incredibly proud of what we’ve created and the community we’ve built. I am so grateful to everyone who was part of this journey. It has been such a wonderful time. Thank you very much.”

Last year, Clarkson openly addressed her struggles with “unusually rigid” depression following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in 2022. Reflecting on the separation, she noted, “You feel lonely, and it’s a blessing to have this outlet (creating music and hosting my shows) for those gloomy emotions.”

The singer also responded to past allegations regarding the show being a toxic work environment, where employees accused producers of “overworking” and “underpaying” staff. Clarkson stated that the team is committed to fostering a positive work atmosphere by implementing new leadership training for all current employees.

Show Kelly Clarkson is particularly well-known for its segment “Kellyoke,” where Clarkson performs unique covers of her favorite pop and alternative classics, including recent renditions of Billie Eilish’s “Bellyache,” as well as tracks from Weezer, Chappell Roan, The Last Party, and My Chemical Romance. Clarkson even released an EP of covers in 2022.
