Lizzo’s New Album Updates
Lizzo announced that her upcoming album “Love in Real Life” is “finished.” She plans to speak Saturday evening on the airField.
This event follows her recent release of the album’s title track as the primary single last month, along with the thought-provoking song “Still Bad.”
Taking to Instagram, she shared: “The album is ready! Astrology experts.”
She is set to make an appearance on SNL on April 12, alongside actor John Hamm.
Insights on Love and Reality
Earlier this month, Lizzo discussed the inspiration behind the name of her upcoming fifth LP. She explained that the title came to her after realizing the significance of genuine relationships in real life compared to those formed through social media.
“I believe that real life is where love truly exists,” she stated. “I once mistook the validation from social media as true love. There were times when I isolated myself, and the Internet seemed like the only source of appreciation.”
She continued, “When social media evolves from a safe space to a toxic environment, it can severely damage your self-esteem. Over the past year and a half, I’ve learned that being loved through a screen doesn’t equate to real love; that occurs when you connect with people in the real world.”
These reflections followed her silence-breaking response to a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her in 2023, in which she claimed to have “done nothing wrong.” The lawsuit was brought by three former dancers who alleged a hostile work environment during her tour. Lizzo denied these allegations and mentioned contemplating leaving the music industry due to the circumstances.
On March 19, she also addressed criticisms directed towards her music and other Black pop icons from the past.
