Exciting Lineup
Earlier this month, a lineup was announced for the “worthy farmer festival” featuring headliners Neil Young, The 1975, and Olivia Rodrigo. Additionally, Charli XCX was confirmed to perform on another stage on Saturday, along with numerous other acts for 2025.
In a recent interview, Allen shared her insights on the lineup, noting that while she believes Olivia Rodrigo will deliver a memorable performance on the main stage of the Pyramid, she was taken aback by Charli XCX’s absence from the headliner list.
“I am absolutely over the moon about Rodrigo. I think it will be incredible, and she will definitely shine,” she stated, according to Sun, during a weekend column for Strange after their conversation in London last year.
“Nonetheless, it was surprising that Charli XCX wasn’t a headliner, particularly considering her extensive body of work and her significant presence in the industry. Plus, she’s English and has had a massive moment,” she continued. “So, I’m not quite sure why that decision was made.”
The announcement of Charli’s performance at Glastonbury 2025 followed her recent Grammy wins and her success at the Brit Awards earlier this month, where she secured five trophies.
Her album ‘brat’ was ranked number one on NME‘s list of the 50 best albums of 2024. “’Brat’ has become a cultural phenomenon, showcasing her remarkable artistry,” the publication noted. “However, ‘brat’ as an album—its production and marketing—are simply exceptional. As a songwriter, Charli has navigated the balance between nonconformity and raw vulnerability throughout her career.”
Glastonbury 2025 is scheduled for the last weekend in June, running from Wednesday, June 25, to Sunday, June 29, at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. The initial lineup poster is set to be revealed on March 6.
Other acts in the lineup will include Biffy Clyro, Wolf Alice, Noah Kahan, Maccabees, Alanis Morissette, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, St. Vincent, Deftones, The Sisters of Mercy, Libertines, and Wet Leg.
On a separate note, Lily Allen has recently discussed her journey of “embracing pain” and expressed her desire to possibly get a tattoo to commemorate this experience following her split from actor David Harbour.
