Catch $AP Rocky Performing New Tracks from a Helicopter at Rolling Loud California

A $ AP Rocky Takes the Stage

A $ AP Rocky opened his set at Rolling Loud California, performing new songs via helicopter—see the footage below.

The rapper headlined the Inglewood festival on Saturday (March 15) and arrived in a helicopter adorned with “Do Not Be Stupid,” referencing his upcoming studio album of the same name.

He kicked off his performance with the unconnected track “All Black (Stole Ya Flow)” followed by the second song inspired by “Gangsta” by Coolio, before being lowered to the stage to perform “A $ AP Forever.”

The Rocky set also featured an appearance from Skepta for “Glory to the Lord (Yes)” and performances of the single “Tailor Swif” along with new songs “Your Honor” and “Stop Snitching.”

“Don’t Be Stupid” was slated for release in August 2024 but has faced multiple delays, likely due to his ongoing legal battles. A new release is now anticipated in 2025.

Last month, he commented, “I think, frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates on the album. They’re just ready to get this stuff, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think anyone wants to hear where I am with this, how far along I am, and all that.”

“They just want to hear something, just to see where I am, and I promise I have new material in the works. I’m challenging myself. This is like anyone else; I’m approaching this with a different tactic, degree, or grace.”

“I finished the album,” he added. “I just want to release it. I don’t want to keep saying what I’m going to do; I want to give people what I promised them at the right time.”

In February, Rocky was acquitted of charges related to a 2021 shooting incident. After nearly a month-long trial in Los Angeles, the jury found him not guilty of all counts after he was accused of allegedly shooting his former friend A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. Ralley in the Hollywood area. Rocky had faced a potential 24-year prison sentence but denied guilt and faced only 180 days in jail.

During the trial, his partner Rihanna was present in court to support him, and by the end of the proceedings, they brought their children, prompting his lawyer to later suggest the couple did so as a “ploy” to gain jury sympathy.
