Additional Releases and Accolades

The Cure will also release a disc featuring images from their sixth studio album “Head on the Door” on Record Store Day. You can discover other releases as part of this annual event here.

In 2022, one of Four Tet’s songs was featured on the Eat Your Own Ears Recordings Ep 1, alongside the Smith mix Vapor Trail Ride.

“Songs of the Lost World” marked The Cure’s return to the UK album charts, achieving their first number one in 32 years, with NME awarding it five stars. “Useless? Yes, but the sound always holds enough heart and richness to place these songs among the best,” it stated.

“The frontman suggested that there could be two more notes in the future, but ‘Songs of the Lost World’ feels sufficient for the anticipation we’ve endured, perhaps being the most personal album of Smith’s career. Mortality may loosen, but in black and flowers, there is color even on the grave.”

It was also featured in NME‘s list of the best albums of the year, while the lead single “May” was included in NME‘s best songs of 2024. Through swirling synthesizers and cinematic instrumentation, combined with piercing lyricism and melodies from Robert Smith, this epic is described as a masterpiece of ethereal beauty and raw emotional depth, marking it as “one of their most captivating songs yet.”
