Steadman Pirson from the renowned 1980s act “Five Star” has passed away at the age of 60, as confirmed by his sister Denise Pirson.
The musician was best known as a member of the group alongside his siblings Denise, Lorein, Doris, and Delra Pirson. He died on March 10 after battling diabetes and was on dialysis, according to Mirror.

Five Star soared to fame with hits like “System Addict,” “I Can’t Wait Another Minute,” and “Rain or Shine.” Their signature outfits and synchronized dance routines drew comparisons to the American group Jackson 5.
The group won the Brit Award for Best Group in 1987, surpassing rivals such as Pet Shop Boys and Eurythmics.
Fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to the musician, expressing how much the group meant to them. One user on X said: “Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Five Star; my childhood was magical thanks to their music, captivating dance routines, and, of course, striking costumes.”

Singer and songwriter Jaden Cornelius wrote on X: “I woke up to the news of my friend’s passing… he was among the kindest and most beautiful souls I had the pleasure of knowing… an extraordinary dancer with a childlike zest for life… You held great significance in my life, and I will miss you dearly!”

Five Star achieved six top ten hits, with “Rain or Shine” peaking at number two on the charts in 1986, just behind Madonna. The group was managed by their father, artist Baster Pirson.
