Black Sabbath Concert Film Release

2013 Black Sabbath concert film Live … collected in their masses was released for free on YouTube – check it out below.

Cultural Significance of the Concert

In 2013, Black Sabbath addressed fans in Australia for the last time. It marked the first reunion of the group with Ozzy Osbourne on the continent in four decades, during which they filmed a live album and an accompanying concert film.

Duplicated Live … collected in their masses, the film and album were recorded over two nights at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, showcasing a mix of Black Sabbath’s classic hits alongside new tracks from their final studio album “13”. Notable performances included “War Pigs,” “Black Sabbath,” “Iron Man,” “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,” and “Paranoid.”

Now, the full concert film is available on YouTube for free, generously provided by the American concert platform Qello. You can check it out below.

The release of the concert film precedes the group’s highly anticipated final reunion concert at Villa Park in their hometown of Birmingham on Saturday, July 5. For this special show, Black Sabbath will share the stage with Metallica, Slayer, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Lamb of God, and more.

All proceeds from the final performance on Saturday will benefit research for Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and the Acorn Children’s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.

In a recent interview with NME, Sharon Osbourne noted that during the announcement at Villa Park, her husband Ozzy is currently “doing really great” and feels “very emotional” about the final Sabbath show. “This is what he wants,” she added.

Fan Reactions and Upcoming Performance

“He wants to thank everyone. He didn’t have that chance due to his illness, but now he does,” Sharon said. This final performance is described as “going back to the beginning,” focusing on celebrating the music that still resonates today, rather than generating new material.

Sharon further explained, “You reach a point in your career where what you’re doing simply cannot compare to what you’ve done before. At that point you can relax on your laurels and say: ‘People still love this, and it’s still selling; we can’t achieve more success than we already have, and that’s enough.’”

While Ozzy Osbourne’s participation with Black Sabbath has been confirmed, his level of involvement has raised concerns due to his health issues. However, the legendary frontman recently reassured fans that they can expect him to perform alongside Black Sabbath.

During the latest episode of his show Ozzy Speaks on SiriusXM, he stated, “I do not plan to perform a full set with Black Sabbath, but I will do a few songs with them. I’ll participate as much as I can, where I feel comfortable.”

Ozzy, who last performed a full set in 2018, shared, “I’m trying to get back on my feet. It’s hard to jump out of bed in the morning. I have to balance myself, but I’m still here and still active.”

Despite Ozzy revealing that he “cannot walk” due to his Parkinson’s illness, his wife and manager, Sharon, has assured fans that the disease “has not affected his voice.”

Concert tickets went on sale two weeks ago (February 14), with many fans facing disappointment trying to secure their spots. Some criticized the high ticket prices – although all proceeds are directed to Parkinson’s treatment, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and the Acorn Children’s Hospice. Others expressed joy at successfully acquiring tickets for the event.

Meanwhile, Black Sabbath members Iommy and Butler have recently shared their thoughts on the upcoming reunion via social media. Bob Daisley, the classic era bassist, also mentioned that he was not invited to perform at the band’s last show.
